OVERVIEW

The Career Readiness Program aims to equip underprivileged individuals in Aurora, IL, with the skills and certifications needed to bridge the education, job, and compensation gap. Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and support, participants will gain the knowledge and credentials necessary to pursue rewarding careers in project management and clinical research.

 

STATISTICS AND DEMOGRAPHICS

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 13.5% of Aurora residents live below the poverty line.

The unemployment rate in Aurora is higher than the national average, with many individuals facing barriers to employment due to lack of education and skills.

Minority communities, including African American and Hispanic populations, are disproportionately affected by poverty and unemployment in Aurora.

 

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

PMP Certification Training: Participants will receive intensive training to prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam, a globally recognized credential that enhances job prospects and earning potential.

Clinical Research Associate Training: Participants will receive intensive training to prepare to enter entry level clinical research associate (CRA) roles that enhances job prospects and earning potential.

Professional Development Workshops: Workshops will cover essential project management skills such as leadership, communication, and strategic planning, ensuring participants are well-rounded and competitive in the job market. Job shadowing and exposure to on-the-job training will be offered to CRA training participants.

Mentorship and Career Guidance: Each participant will be paired with a mentor who will provide guidance, support, and industry insights to help navigate their career path in project management or clinical research.

Job Placement Assistance: The program will collaborate with local businesses and organizations to facilitate job placement opportunities for graduates, ensuring a smooth transition into the workforce.
