OVERVIEW

The Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Initiative aims to empower underprivileged individuals in Aurora, IL, to build wealth and create economic opportunities through entrepreneurship and financial education. By providing access to resources, training, and support, the program seeks to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to start and grow successful businesses, ultimately bridging the compensation gap and promoting financial independence.


STATISTICS AND DEMOGRAPHICS

According to a study by the Federal Reserve, minority-owned businesses face significant barriers to accessing capital, with African American and Hispanic entrepreneurs being less likely to receive loans compared to their white counterparts.

Financial literacy levels are lower among low-income individuals, leading to challenges in managing finances, building savings, and accessing credit.


PROGRAM COMPONENTS

Entrepreneurship Training and Mentorship: Participants will receive comprehensive training in business planning, marketing, finance, and operations, supplemented by mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Financial Literacy Workshops: Workshops will cover fundamental concepts of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management, empowering participants to make informed financial decisions.
